Henry Vert filed his homestead claim near Addy, WA a year before he met and married his wife, Alice Maxwell. They were married in Oct. 1897. After their first son was born in Spokane, WA in 1898, they moved to their homestead where the other three sons were born. By summer 1905, their homestead was taking shape.
